The Crown Chakra

Crown chakra, also called “Sahasrara” chakra, is the seventh chakra in the human body located at the crown of the head. The word “Sahasrara” means thousand or infinite. This chakra is related to spirituality, enlightenment, and dynamic thought.

A balanced crown chakra indicates good memory function, intelligence, and focus. This chakra opens up the divine nature of a human being. This brings clarity to all the five senses in the body.

Its color is “White/Violet”. There is no element of this chakra. The seed mantra of this chakra is “Aum”. The pituitary and the hypothalamus gland functions are connected to the Crown chakra.

The awakening of the Crown chakra develops a sense of self that does not operate by ego because it opens up the divine within. (1)

With an open Crown chakra, you will feel light, grateful for everything, and compassionate to every other living being. One starts to accept reality as it is. The perspective becomes clear as one gets to know this beautiful world.

The Sahasrara chakra is the chakra related to the nonphysical dimension of existence. As one’s energies get dominant in this chakra, they feel true ecstasy.

Signs of an Overactive Crown Chakra:

When this chakra is overactive, you may encounter some issues such as:

  • Apathy
  • Cynicism
  • Spiritual obsession
  • Self-destructive behavior (2)
  • Relying on the knowledge

  • Confused mind
  • Poor decision making
  • Lack of inspiration

Crown Chakra Healing:

When the crown chakra is open, one is ready to let go of misunderstandings about the self and the reason for being. The crown chakra is also a gateway to the super consciousness, which means reaching a state of experience where it is no longer possible to experience yourself as separate from anything or anyone. This is pure ecstasy.

1. Meditation:

Meditate by sitting on the mat or chair or anywhere you are comfortable. Sit silently and reflect on yourselves. Create self-awareness. You will slowly understand things that are going wrong in your life. If these things are related to the crown chakra as mentioned above, work on them. (3)

You can just stop/start doing some things by bringing total awareness to your life. This way, you will have almost full control over your life and every chakra will get balanced by itself.

3. Affirmations:

 Say:

  • “Divinity resides within”
  • “Universe is my teacher”
  • “I am guided by the universe”
4. Self Awareness:

Be aware of your vision. Awareness is the most important thing especially when you are healing. Carefully watch your thoughts and try to read them. If you find yourself to be confused about the smallest decisions in life, you probably need to sit back and reflect.

Come home, take a bath, comfort yourself with clean and white/violet colored clothes, listen to soothing music, watch some spiritual movies and relax. Meditate.

5. Foods to eat:

Fresh organic fruits and vegetables, brown rice, brown bread, etc. Eating fresh vegetables without cooking them increases prana energy in the body.
