Spiritual practices are the practices that everyone should do in their daily life. These practices are not complicated as you may think they are. But, listed below are the practices that a normal human being can do to make their life profound.
Spirituality is basically not about selflessness or divinity; it is just about knowing oneself better and better each day. When you know yourself better, your decisions and actions never go wrong.
Spiritual teachers have always asked people to be aware of their own actions rather than judge what is wrong or right. We need to understand that society has conditioned our minds in such a way that it is pretty hard to let go of beliefs and other conditional behaviors.
People follow many rituals of their own culture, but they forget to understand the science and purpose. Being blind is not the way to live. What is happening in the family is far more critical than what is happening in society. Similarly, things happening in our bodies and minds are more important than anything else.
Every person is unique. Everyone has their talent. But, as human beings, we have the same kind of body, and the origin is nature. So, one can heal himself by just surrounding him with things that he is made of, like, the five elements. Exposing yourself to sunlight, playing or swimming in a river or sea or just a pool, going for a walk barefoot on the grass or mud, sleeping under the sky, etc., heals our body and mind.
The practices listed below are some techniques that can elevate your being.
Self Awareness
Being aware is the first thing you can do to get better and better day by day. Below is a simple practice you can follow:
- Close your eyes.
- Be silent for a while.
- Be aware of everything that is going on in your mind.
- Observe your thoughts.
- Do not act on them. Just observe them.
- Be in this state for at least 5 minutes.
After doing the above practice, try this:
- Close your eyes.
- Now, observe what is going on around you.
- Listen to the sounds, feel the air, feel the energy, and relax.
- Do not try to understand anything.
- Be aware of everything that is happening around you.
- Do this practice for at least 5 minutes.
This spiritual practice makes you aware of yourself and the things around you. It is vital to be mindful of our thoughts because sometimes we feel that something is wrong due to external factors, but these are only our thoughts creating problems.
Practice this at least 2 to 3 times a day. You can do it at home or anywhere you are.
Meditate
Mediation is a spiritual practice that elevates our mood, freshens our minds, and calms down our nervous system. Daily meditation has tremendous benefits like cultivating self-awareness, increasing productivity, developing a sharp focus, reducing stress, etc. People think that getting into spirituality means reading scriptures and following certain rituals. In contrast, the first step of being spiritual is being aware and consciously doing our actions.
Meditating in the morning after a bath is the best way to start your day.
- Sit silently for at least 5 minutes.
- Do not try to think anything.
- Do not plan the day while meditating.
