How To Live a Healthy Lifestyle?
Nutrition
The very first thing that one should prioritize in his/her life is Health and Fitness. It takes you on a path to creating a healthy lifestyle of your own.
One of the basic yet important things our body needs is energy. But that’s not all that’s needed, our body requires certain nutrients and minerals to perform well.
In today’s life, most of us have improper eating habits, right from the timing to the quality of food. Eating proper and healthy means having simple food which is less in calories, more in fibers, and has essential vitamins and nutrients.
Having meals at the right intervals is one of the key factors when it comes to maintaining a good digestive system. Our gut (stomach) is the primary factor that is directly connected to our mental health. So, question yourself if you are consciously following these rules or not.
Trouble Sleeping
We have always heard “go to bed early” from our parents and elders. Well, it is the right thing to do for our well-being and quality of work life.
Our body needs 6-8 hours of daily sleep, varying from person to person. According to ancient Ayurvedic text, the right time to go to bed is 9 -10 pm and the sleep between 10 pm – 2 am is the best for our nervous system. You will have better intellect, creativity, and passion if you follow these ayurvedic sleep tips.
Now, it comes to the clothes that we wear while we sleep. Being comfortable is everyone’s priority, and also the body asks for it. This is one of the main factors that affect sleep. Always wear clothes which are loose, breathable fabric, light and soft. Doing some yoga, calming poses, meditation, having warm milk, and listening to peaceful music will help to sleep better.
There are certain things which depend on your lifestyle. For a normal man, 6 hours of sleep is enough. But for a bodybuilder, 7-9 hours of sleep is necessary because the body needs to rejuvenate. As you age, your sleep decreases. Children naturally need more sleep for their overall growth.
Address your mental health
Physical and mental health are interlinked. If you have a sound body, you will have a sound mind. And a sound mind will keep you happy, motivated, relaxed, calm, and fresh which in turn will make your physical life better.
Now, there are some foods that affect your mental health which you shouldn’t be consuming on a daily basis. And if you consume the below-mentioned foods in an improper way or time, you might create a problem for yourself:
Empty stomach: spicy food, junk food, citrus fruits.
Before sleep: chocolate, ice cream, pasta, pizza, citrus fruits, etc.
Morning: white bread, pancakes, muffins, or oily items.
And these are a few things you should avoid: sugar, caffeine, soft drinks, refined food, saturated fats, salt, etc.
Diet
Now that you have made up your mind to burn calories to maintain your health, diet plays an important role to replenish the glucose in your body. But hey, that’s not enough, you need other nutrients to build your broken tissues and muscles and to restore the vitality of your body.
So, having fruits, nuts, clean water, and complete foods such as milk, yogurt, cheese, ghee, potatoes, kale, salmon, etc will be a key part of your diet. As mentioned above, the right time to have food is important for your body to absorb it properly without any hindrance.
Make sure to have multiple food nutrients in a meal. Try to have a meal consisting of carbohydrates, proteins, fats as macros and vitamins, minerals and fibers, etc. Don’t just have carbs or proteins or as such at a time, mix them.
Daily Workout Routine
Exercise is the first thing that comes to our mind when we say fitness. There is yoga, sports, gym and certain exercises to be fit and have good health.
In our busy lives, we don’t have much time to hit gyms, go to yoga classes, or play a sport. Those who are doing these, you guys rock. Alright then, you have planned to eat good food, exercise, right supplement. Now it’s time to have a sound sleep for better health. Without sleep, you seriously cannot have a healthy lifestyle. As your body needs good food, it needs sound sleep.
So, understanding the human body, how it functions, and its maintenance can be a great way to address a good and healthy lifestyle.
